As always, the Regimental Pipes and Drums
participated in the Stampede Parade - the kickoff to the
Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth - on Friday 9 July 2004.
The Regiment once again hosted a public small-arms
and platoon weapons display at the Calgary Stampede as
part of the annual Armed Forces exhibit. The display was
open all days of the Stampede, from 9 July to 18 July
2004, from 0900 to 2200 hrs.

The Calgary Highlanders were augmented by
"deserving soldiers" from Reserve Brigades across Canada,
including fellow infantrymen from The Argyll and
Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise's) and
The Royal Regina Rifles. Other regiments
represented at the other stands in the Armed Forces
exhibit include Regular and Reserve soldiers from Lord
Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians), Princess Patricia's
Canadian Light Infantry, The Ontario Regiment (RCAC), The
Princess Louise Fusiliers, 4th Battalion The Royal
Canadian Regiment, and various units of the Royal Regiment
of Canadian Artillery and the Canadian Military Engineers.
Many items of military hardware were on display,
including a Leopard tank, LAV III armoured personnel
carrier, and various artillery, anti-aircraft and
anti-tank weapons.
