The first Regimental newsletter
of the Calgary Highlanders in the Second World War was called "The Glen" and
was published from 1939-45. The Calgary Highlanders Association adopted the
title and header art of the wartime Glen for its postwar newsletter, and
continued the tradition even after amalgamation with the Tenth Battalion
Association in the 1950s.
The latest edition of "The
Glen" was prepared for the Tenth Battalion Calgary Highlanders Association
Dinner marking the anniversary of the Battle of St. Julien. Featuring full
colour photos on the front and back covers, and 44 pages of contributions
from not only all major subunits and organizations of the Regiment, the
volume also features news on the King's Own Calgary Regiment and HMCS
Calgary, the two other fighting units bearing the name of our beloved city.
Copies of the current issue of
the Glen are available for paid members in good standing of the
Association. For more information, please contact the editor through the
Office of the Regimental Secretary.
